1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Padi Academy website at padiacad and your participation in any course or programme offered by Padi Academy (referred to in this document as "we", "us", or "the Academy").
Padi Academy is a financial education provider operating in Malaysia. Our registered address is Jalan Sultan Ismail 165, 50250 Kuala Lumpur.
These terms apply to all visitors to our website and to all individuals who register for, attend, or access any Padi Academy educational content. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, we respectfully ask that you do not proceed with enrolment or continued use of the website.
2. Enrolment & Registration
To enrol in any Padi Academy course, you must:
- Complete the enrolment form on our website or contact us directly by phone or email;
- Provide accurate personal information, including your full name, contact number, and a valid email address;
- Be 18 years of age or above (our programmes are designed with adults aged 40 and above in mind, but there is no upper age restriction);
- Complete payment in accordance with the fee schedule for your chosen programme.
Your enrolment is confirmed once you receive a written acknowledgement from us by email. We reserve the right to decline any registration where we believe the programme may not be suitable for the applicant's circumstances, and will offer a full refund in such cases.
Each enrolment is for an individual. Course access and materials are not transferable to another person unless agreed in writing with Padi Academy in advance.
3. Fees & Payment
Current programme fees are as follows:
- Building Your First Emergency Fund — RM 490
- Strengthening Household Resilience — RM 890
- Comprehensive Household Reserve Programme — RM 1,400 (instalment option available: 2 × RM 700)
All fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are inclusive of all course materials, scheduled consultation sessions, and printed workbooks where specified in the programme description.
Payment may be made by online bank transfer to the account details provided in your enrolment confirmation, or by other methods communicated by our team. Payment in full is required before the first session unless an instalment arrangement has been agreed in writing.
For instalment enrolments under the Comprehensive Household Reserve Programme, the second payment falls due on or before the start of the third month of the programme. We will send a reminder at least seven days prior.
We do not store payment card details on our systems. Any fees quoted on our website are subject to change for future intakes; however, fees confirmed at the time of your enrolment will not be revised.
4. Cancellation & Refunds
We understand that circumstances can change. Our aim is to be fair and sensible in how we handle cancellations.
Cancellation by the participant:
- If you cancel your enrolment more than 14 calendar days before the first session, we will refund your fee in full, less an administration charge of RM 50.
- If you cancel between 7 and 14 days before the first session, we will refund 50% of the programme fee.
- If you cancel less than 7 days before the first session, or after the programme has begun, we are unable to offer a refund. We will, however, make reasonable efforts to offer you a deferred place on the next available intake.
Cancellation by Padi Academy: In the unlikely event that we need to cancel or reschedule a programme, we will notify you as early as possible. If we cancel a programme, you will receive a full refund or, if you prefer, a credit toward a future intake. We will not be liable for any indirect costs you may have incurred in connection with a cancelled programme.
Refund requests should be submitted in writing to info@padiacad. Approved refunds are processed within 14 working days.
5. Course Delivery
Padi Academy delivers its programmes through a combination of:
- Live evening webinars conducted over Zoom or a similar platform;
- Printed workbooks and reference materials mailed or handed out at registration;
- One-to-one telephone or video consultations with a licensed financial counsellor or planner (as specified per programme);
- Small-group in-person workshops in the Klang Valley (for the Strengthening Household Resilience programme);
- Recorded session access for the Comprehensive Household Reserve Programme.
Session schedules are communicated at least two weeks before the first session. We aim to keep all sessions on the scheduled dates; where this is not possible due to circumstances beyond our control, we will reschedule and notify participants promptly.
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have a stable internet connection, a device capable of joining a video call, and a quiet environment for webinar sessions.
Printed materials are dispatched to addresses within Malaysia only. Participants outside Peninsular Malaysia should contact us to discuss delivery arrangements in advance of registration.
6. Participant Conduct
We work hard to create a calm, respectful learning environment where adults can engage openly with financial topics that are often personal. We ask all participants to help us maintain that environment by:
- Treating fellow participants and facilitators with courtesy and patience;
- Keeping personal financial information shared by other participants confidential;
- Refraining from recording, reproducing, or sharing session content without our written consent;
- Using our online platforms in a lawful and considerate manner.
If a participant's conduct is disruptive to other learners or inconsistent with these expectations, Padi Academy reserves the right to remove that participant from the programme. In such cases, no refund will be issued.
7. Intellectual Property
All content created or compiled by Padi Academy — including but not limited to course materials, workbooks, webinar recordings, templates, budgeting frameworks, and website content — remains the intellectual property of Padi Academy.
Upon enrolment, you are granted a personal, non-commercial licence to use course materials for your own household financial planning. You may not reproduce, share, resell, or adapt any Padi Academy materials for any other purpose without our prior written consent.
Our brand name, logo, and the "Padi Field Composition" design framework are protected marks. Use of these elements in any context other than direct reference to Padi Academy is not permitted.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted under Malaysian law, Padi Academy's liability to any participant is limited to the programme fees paid by that participant for the specific programme concerned.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss — including loss of income, savings, or investment returns — arising from your participation in our programmes or your use of this website.
We make every effort to ensure that course content is accurate and up to date at the time of delivery. Financial regulations, tax rules, and product terms in Malaysia can change; we accept no liability for decisions made on the basis of information that has subsequently changed.
9. Educational Disclaimer
Padi Academy is a financial education provider. We are not a licensed financial advisory firm and we do not manage client funds, execute transactions, or provide personalised investment advice regulated under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 or the Financial Services Act 2013.
All content delivered through our programmes is educational in nature. It is designed to improve your understanding of personal finance concepts and household budgeting — not to replace advice from a regulated financial planner, tax adviser, or legal professional.
Where our programmes include consultation sessions with licensed financial counsellors or planners, those individuals operate under their own professional obligations and licences. Padi Academy facilitates access to these consultations but is not responsible for the specific advice offered by external licensed professionals.
We encourage all participants to make financial decisions carefully, seek additional professional advice where appropriate, and recognise that individual circumstances differ widely. No outcome can be assured from any educational programme.
10. Privacy & Data
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By enrolling with Padi Academy, you confirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
We collect only the personal information necessary to administer your enrolment, communicate course logistics, and facilitate scheduled consultations. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Our use of cookies on this website is described separately in our Cookie Policy.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our programmes, legal requirements, or operational practices. The date of the most recent revision is displayed at the top of this page.
For participants mid-way through a programme, any material changes to these terms will not affect the conditions under which you enrolled. For new enrolments, the terms in effect at the time of registration apply.
We recommend revisiting this page periodically. Your continued use of our website or participation in our programmes after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
